Dr. Laud Kassim is a seasoned medical professional with over fourteen years of progressive experience across clinical care, healthcare financing, health insurance, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance within Ghana’s health sector. As the Chief Medical Officer of GLICO Health, he provides strategic leadership over clinical operations, provider management, cost containment, and quality assurance frameworks. 

Dr. Kassim holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Chester, United Kingdom, graduating with distinction as a Westminster Scholar. He is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and is certified by The Institutes Knowledge Group, USA. His multidisciplinary training is further strengthened by a Professional Diploma in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and a Certificate in Basic Accounting and Finance from the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana, equipping him with a robust perspective on healthcare governance, sustainability, and financial stewardship. 

Prior to his current role, Dr. Kassim served as Deputy Medical Director at Superior Medical Centre from 2017 to 2022, where he contributed to clinical governance, service quality improvement, and operational oversight. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to driving measurable health outcomes through data-driven decision-making, strategic leadership, and policy-level engagement. 

Dr. Kassim has a particular interest in the application of data, technology, and data science in healthcare financing, with a focus on financial sustainability, utilisation management, and cost containment. His professional experience spans evidence-based clinical care, medical claims adjudication, provider audits, ESG integration, regulatory compliance, health education, and health promotion, positioning him at the intersection of clinical excellence and health systems performance. 

Dr Kassim is a dedicated advocate for healthcare equity. He serves as the Medical Outreach Coordinator for the Christian Outreach Complex, leading community-based clinics and health education initiatives for underserved populations in Accra. Through his leadership and professional practice, Dr Kassim continues to contribute meaningfully to strengthening healthcare quality, access, and long-term sustainability within Ghana.
