Dr. Ben Foleson holds a Doctorate Degree in Medicine from Bonn University, Germany, and Post-Graduate Diploma in Tropical Medical from Liverpool University, UK. He is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians.
His work experience spans over 45 years. He worked with the Ministry of Health, Ghana, and in private medical practice. He also worked at the Medical Department, Bank of Ghana, where he retired in 2001 as Assistant Director and Head of Department. He has provided consultancy services to many organizations including International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), John Hopkins Programme for Education in Reproductive Health (JHPIEGO) and World Bank HIV/AIDS Education Programme for Financial Institution.
He has also provided Health Insurance Consultancy services to Tri-Star Actuarial and Management Consultants Ghana Limited and Metropolitan Insurance Company. He serves on the Board of Universal Hospitals Group Limited and Star Life Assurance Company limited. He is also a Board Member of the National Insurance Commission and Chairman of the Board of Governors of Achimota School.
He is the author of many publications, papers and reports in his field and has been an invaluable resource person for the Continuous Professional Development programmes organized by the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) for its members.
Mr. Forkuo Kyei is the Group Chief Executive officer GLICO Group Ltd and a chartered Insurer with over thirty years’ experience. Prior to his appointment as the Group CEO, he was the Managing Director of GLICO Life Insurance Company, the life insurance subsidiary of the Group for approximately ten years.
Having joined GLICO in 1992, he has played a pivotal role in the growth and success of the organization. He was instrumental in the establishment of most of the subsidiary companies under the Group and plays a key role in the growth of these companies.
Apart from being a Chartered Insurer and an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) he also holds MSc in Insurance & Risk Management from Cass Business School City University (UK) and MBA in Finance & Advance Strategic Management from the Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University (UK). Mr. Forkuo Kyei is a product of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) where he graduated with a BSc Development Planning degree.
Mr. Kyei is a practicing Christian. He serves on several company boards as well as boards of institutions and organizations including Liberty Centre Assemblies of God Church and the Assemblies of God University College.
Professor David Ofori-Adjei is the former Rector of Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons. He is a lecturer at the Centre for Tropical Clinical Pharmacology and the Department of Medicine & Therapeutics, University of Ghana Medical School, Accra, Ghana
He is also the Director, Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, University of Ghana, Legon.
His vast knowledge and experience in the field of medicine have been invaluable to the work of the Board.
Pastor Stephen Quarm is a Communications Practitioner with over 15 years hands on experience in project management. His professional expertise covers the areas of market research and analysis, strategic planning and implementation, advertising, media analysis and project report writing.
He has participated in several projects, including preparation of feasibility study reports, development of insurance products for insurance companies.
He is currently a Consultant and Operations Manager of Aidoo Mensah & Associates, a pensions and benefits consulting firm in Ghana.
Maame Dufie Achampong-Kyei Obeng (Mrs) is the Managing Director of GLICO Life. Prior to her appointment as Managing Director, she was Executive Director/Chief Technical Operations Officer of the Company. Before joining GLICO Life, she was the Assistant General Manager in Charge of Risk Operations for GLICO General and later the Group Head, Enterprise Risk for GLICO Group.
She is a Chartered Insurer and an Associate member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK). She has worked in different capacities at GLICO including being a Marketing Executive, Underwriting Officer, Claims Officer and a Management trainee.
Mrs. Obeng holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with Economics and Marketing from Aston University (UK) and a Master of Science degree in Insurance and Risk Management from Cass Business School (UK). She is currently a Doctorate of Business Administration candidate with the Swiss Management Centre (SMC University, Zurich).
Maame Dufie is also presently a board member of GLICO General.
Maame Afriyie Boachie is a professional marketer and a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK). Before being appointed the Managing Director of the Company, Maame Afriyie was the Business Development Manager and later, the General Manager at GLICO Healthcare.
Prior to joining GLICO Healthcare in 2009, Maame worked as a Relief Manager at Trinity Hospice Shops Ltd (London), where she oversaw the administration and management of office operations and staff. Alongside Trinity Hospice, Maame also worked with Sainsbury’s Clapham (London) as a member of the customer service unit.
Maame is a diligent, versatile, experienced and a results-oriented leader whose focus is on achieving desired results. She has been instrumental in identifying and developing GLICO Healthcare’s unique selling proposition, health insurance underwriting and claims management.
Maame Afriyie Boachie holds an Executive Master of Business Administration (Marketing) from the University of Ghana Business School and a Bachelor of Education (Arts) Degree from University of Cape Coast. Maame also holds an Executive Education Certificate in Leadership Excellence from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She has also obtained a Certificate in Consulting Science, Application and Practice from the Ghana Institute of Consulting.
Vida Kyei holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B Hons) from the University of Ghana and a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Development Studies (BA IDS) from the University for Development Studies, Tamale.
She was called to the Ghana Bar in 2014 having successfully obtained a Barrister at law certificate from the Ghana School of Law.
Her areas of specialty include commercial law, corporate law, investment law, land law and general litigation.
Prior to her joining GLICO, Vida Kyei worked with Ghana’s Attorney General’s Department, Center for Development Partnership and Beyond Aid.
Vida Kyei is also the Company Secretary for GLICO Life, GLICO General, GLICO Pensions and GLICO Capital.
She is a member of the Ghana Bar Association.
