Dr. Ben Foleson holds a Doctorate Degree in Medicine from Bonn University and Post-Graduate Diploma in Tropical Medical from Liverpool University. He is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians.
His work experience spans over 45 years, having worked with the Ministry of Health, Ghana, and in private medical practice. He also worked at the Medical Department, Bank of Ghana, retiring in 2001 as Assistant Director and Head of Department. He has provided consultancy services to many organizations including IPPF (International Planned Parenthood Federation), JHPIEGO (John Hopkins Programme for Education in Reproductive Health) and World Bank HIV/AIDS Education Programme for Financial Institution.
He has also provided Health Insurance Consultancy services to Tri-Star Actuarial and Management Consultants Ghana Limited and Metropolitan Insurance Company. He serves on the Board of Universal Hospitals Group Limited and Star Life Assurance Company limited. He is also a Board Member of the National Insurance Commission and Chairman of the Board of Governors of Achimota School for several years.
He is the author of many publications, papers and reports in his field and an invaluable resource for the Continuous Profession Development programmes organized by the Ghana Medical Association for its members.
